GT vs LSG : Shubman Gill Takes Catch Of The Tournament

Lucknow Super Giants are taking on Gujarat Titans in their first encounter of the 15th season of IPL. The match is a night game and is taking place at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. It will be the first season of the league for both teams.

KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya are leading the respective sides for the first time in the league. Both teams are playing their inaugural season of the IPL as they were introduced a few months ago. Hardik Pandya called it right at the toss and elected to bowl first.

Gujarat Titans entered the field with four overseas players while the KL Rahul team, Surprisingly, Went with only 3 overseas options. The Lucknow-based franchise lost two early wickets – KL Rahul and Quinton De Kockdeparted early. Mohammed Shami provided the wickets to the Gujarat Titans.

Shubman Gill’s unbelievable catch :

The LSG batsman, Evin Lewis, Played a pull-shot against a quick short ball of Varun Aaron. He was unable to time the ball well as it was a mis-hit. It seemed like the ball would land away from the square leg fielder.

The square leg fielder Shubman Gill ran quickly and covered a lot of ground in a few seconds. Gill literally flew to attempt the catch and was successful. The ball stuck to his hands and he didn’t let it fall when he landed on the ground.

The catch impressed everyone including the commentators and the fans. Gill received loud applause from his teammates as well. The teammates ran towards him after he took the catch. It was the catch of the season so far in the season and was one of the best catches in the history of the league.
