After the win against New Zealand on Friday. Team India has sealed this bilateral T20 series as they went 2-0 up in the 3 match series. After this win, Teams will travel to Kolkata for the 3rd T20I. Now Gautam Gambhir advises choosing this player in playing eleven.
Avesh Khan in place of Bhuvneshwar – Gautam Gambhir
During the star sports show after the 2nd T2OI, Gambhir puts up his idea to give rest to Bhuvneshwar Kumar and get Avesh Khan in place of him. Avesh Khan had a tremendous IPL season with Delhi this year. He was the second-highest wicket-taker after Harshal Patel.

In the first game, Bhuvneshwar was brilliant with the ball as he picked 2 big wickets and gave just 24 runs in his 4 overs spell. But in Ranchi, he went for runs in the first couple of overs as he leaked 27 runs in 2 overs inside the power-play. Later he finished well with a bowling figure of 1-39 in 4 overs.
On the other side, Avesh picked 24 wickets in 16 matches at an economy rate of 7.37 in IPL. He has been traveling with the team but still hasn’t got a game to play. Gambhir, who very well knows the Eden Gardens, Kolkata wants Avesh to make his debut on that ground as it will suit him.

“From a bowling point of view, they can actually rest Bhuvneshwar Kumar and look at Avesh Khan. It will suit him especially the wicket in Kolkata, it’s got pace and bounce. So I would definitely want to see Avesh playing that game. He has got pace and you got to test him on the international stage when you got the series in your bag. So that is one change they can look towards,” Gambhir said.
Already in the first couple of games, India had two debutants in form of Venkatesh Iyer and Harshal Patel.
Iyer managed to score 16 runs in two games and is yet to get a chance to ball. Whereas Harshal had made his debut in place of injured Siraj in the 2nd T20I. Where he was also the Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling figures of 2-25 in 4 overs.
India still have to be ruthless – Gambhir
In both the games India had won the toss and elected to field first. And dew had played a big role in the games as chasing has become easier. Talking about this Gambhir’s opinion is India should be ruthless in the third game despite the series win and not opt to bat first if they win the toss.
“You still have to be ruthless and try to wrap up the series 3-0. But no point putting pressure on yourself,” he added
