The countdown for the 15th edition of the biggest T20 league has been started. The inaugural game of IPL 2022 will be played on 26th March between Defending Champions Chennai Super Kings and Runner-up Kolkata Knight Riders. Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib Al Hasan, a proven Cricketer from Bangladesh went unsold in the mega auction. One of the reasons why franchises didn’t go behind him could have been the question of his availability as the IPL schedule is having a clash with Bangladesh’s International fixtures.
Shakib is a proper four-overs bowler who can bowl at any stage of the game in the T20s and can also be used as a floater in batting. He has the experience of playing IPL earlier as well. The 34 years old, has represented Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past.
He has played, 71 matches in IPL where he has scored 793 runs at an average of around 20 and scalped 63 wickets at an economy of under 7.5
Moises Henriques
Moises Henriques, medium-pace bowling All-rounder from Australia haven’t got any buyers at the mega auction. He can bat at any position in the top 6 and can even give two-three crucial overs if needed. With the performance, he also brings leadership qualities as he has a successful record in BBL.
Moises has been one of the finest All-rounder in T20 leagues, especially in the Australia league ‘Big Bash’. He has led the Sydney Sixers side with his performance as well as by his Captaincy. But Moises hasn’t performed the same way in the biggest T20 league in the world. He has played IPL since 2009. He has represented as many as six franchises.
He has played 62 matches, where he has scored 1000 runs at an average of around 28 and has scalped 42 wickets at an economy of 8.14.
Ben Cutting
Ben Cutting, who was the Player of the Match in the 2016 IPL Final has gone unsold in the mega auction. Ben is an explosive lower middle-order batter who can play a finisher’s role or even be the team’s third pacer.
Lately, there is a dip in his bowling but still can give the team couple of overs. His performance with the bat in the recently concluded PSL has been staggering as he has smashed at a strike rate of 164.17.
Cutting has represented four franchises in IPL has played just 21 matches in which he has scored 238 runs at a strike rate of 168.79 and scalped 10 wickets at an economy of 9.16.
Roston Chase
Roston Chase is an off-spinner bowling allrounder who hasn’t played IPL yet. In International Cricket as well he has played just 6 T20I. The finger spinner, bowling is not a concern but his Batting is still work-in-progress.
In the last CPL, he has shown that he can bat in the top five positions and can bat deep in the innings, and score big scores. But unfortunately Haven’t replicated the same on the International stage.
In 6 T20I, he has scalped 6 wickets at an economy of just 5.93 and has scored 64 runs.
Hayden Kerr
Hayden Kerr, a 25 years old youngster made the headlines after his heroic 98* off 58 balls while chasing 168 in the playoffs stage of BBL. Before that match, he used to bat lower down the order.
He also contributed with the ball as he picked 25 wickets at an average of 15. He was the second-highest wicket-taker of the season. However, the left-arm pacer went unsold in the mega auction.
But he can be a good replacement singing as he is a multi-dimensional player who can bat at any position and bowls left-arm pace which is a rare commodity in cricket.
