David Warner, who scored 94 runs in the 1st innings of the 1st test match was likely to miss the second test due to a rib injury. As he didn’t take the field and even didn’t bat in the second innings due to the injury.
But David Warner has some other plans, he even played the pink ball test match and was also able to give a good start to his team. The pocket-size dynamo scored 95 runs and missed out his well-deserved hundred by five runs as he became a victim of Ben Stokes’s delivery.
About the injury
David Warner sustained a nasty blow on the rib cage from Ben Stokes in the first Test and didn’t come to bat in the second innings. There was a pain in the ribs that didn’t allow Warner to breathe properly.
A video on Social media is going viral where David Warner is seen sitting with Steve Smith and head coach Justin Langer in the dug-out where he felt the pain as he sneezed, and his entire body went back.
Rib soreness + sneezing = scenes.

I was on injections and painkillers before the start of the game.
David Warner said that “I did have a local (anesthetic) this morning just before I went out to bat. It probably hurt more than what the ribs are at the moment,”
“I was in a fair bit of pain and agony and being able to pick up the kids which is a bit tough but from that perspective I’ve just been icing and doing as much as I can to get ready,” he said after his 95 runs innings.
Warner even said that he’s available for selection as long as he has legs.
“I was pretty close (to missing out) but unless I’ve got no leg I’m not going not to walk out on the field. I probably showed that last year. You don’t want to miss a Test match for your country and if I can get out on the park I’ll do everything to do that,” he said.
