David Warner, Who is one of the top Australian cricketers at the moment has been part of the non-stop cricketing action over the last few months. He was part of Australia’s tour to Pakistan in February this year, a complete season of the Indian Premier League, followed by the recently concluded Sri Lanka tour.
The left-hand opener has contributed significantly to the country across all three formats in the last few years. A few weeks ago, It was reported that the leadership ban on David Warner might get lifted as the board is keen on having him as Australia’s next limited-overs skipper.
Cricket Australia to offer a massive deal:
Meanwhile, What comes up as a significant development is that Cricket Australia is set to offer David Warner ($500,000) and other marquee local players a big deal as the board wants top players of the country to feature in the Big Bash League 2022-23 instead of the UAE T20 League 2023.
Cricket Australia does not want its players to feature in the UAE T20 league as its schedule is clashing with Australia’s Big Bash League (December-January). CA is desperate to have Australia’s top players including the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and other star players playing in the BBL.
Earlier, It was understood that David Warner was offered a deal worth $700,000 to be part of the inaugural season of the UAE T20 League. The opener has formally applied for the permission of Cricket Australia to be part of the UAE-based upcoming league.
The Australian local broadcasters namely Channel 7 are not happy with the viewership numbers registered in the ongoing tenure with the board. Cricket Australia fear that the broadcasters might pull off their broadcasting media rights deal with the board if the big names of the country did not feature in the upcoming Big Bash league.
Here’s what the manager of David Warner said:
“We’re working with Cricket Australia to achieve the best outcome for everyone, My advice to David regarding his international career is to go out on his own terms,”
