Deepak Chahar eyes comeback in the Gujarat Titans clash
Meanwhile, renowned CSK fast bowler Deepak Chahar has confirmed his participation in the IPL, season 2023. Chahar, who was undergoing a long injury layoff, is now completely fit and ready to don the yellow shirt in the enthralling tournament. Chahar confirmed the update while speaking to PTI, adding that he is hopeful to get an opportunity in the lineup straight away.
“If I was a batter, I would be playing way back, but as a fast bowler, when you have a stress fracture, it is very tough to get back on track. You can see other bowlers struggling with the back as well,” said Deepak Chahar during an interaction with Press Trust of India
“I have lived by one rule all my life. If I am fully bowling the way I want, if I am batting the way I want, there is no stopping me. That was the basic rule with which I started my career. I don’t care who is playing, or who is not playing, my motive is to get fully fit and perform with the ball and bat 100%.” Chahar further added
Deepak Chahar suffered two major injuries in the form of a stress fracture and a quad tear last year (2022). Chahar missed a majority of Cricketing action in the year including the IPL and T20 World Cup. The 30-year-old was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2022 mega-auction for a record-breaking price of INR 14 crores, however, is yet to mark an appearance for the franchise since then.
