Australia, the star-studded team entered the recently-concluded T20 World Cup (2022) as hot favorites, however, it turned out to be a devastating tournament for them. The Aaron Finch-led side did not even qualify for the knockouts, getting eliminated in the Super 12 leg of the tournament. Australia finished third in the ‘Group 1’ points tally with three victories to their name in five group matches.
The Men In Yellow have a week to reflect on their performance in the T20 World Cup, as they will soon begin preparations for their next international assignment. Australia will square off against arch-rivals England in a three-match one-day international series, commencing on November 18. Team Australia will head into the home series with the newly-named ODI captain namely Pat Cummins.

Test cricket will probably be the first one to fall off: David Warner
Meanwhile, senior Australian batter David Warner has opened up on his future Australia plans. The opening batter confirmed that he will consider retiring from red-ball Cricket within a year. The 36-year-old further added that he is likely to continue playing white-ball Cricket for the national side as two big World Cups are approaching in the next couple of years.
David Warner had a terrible run in the recently-concluded T20 World Cup which has initiated some outside noise about his position in the team. He scored just 44 runs in 4 encounters with an unimpressive average of 11. Warner’s inability to score runs at the top order remained one of the premier reasons behind defending champions Australia’s shocking exit from the T20 World Cup 2022.

“Test cricket will probably be the first one to fall off. It’s because that’s how it will pan out. The T20 World Cup is in 2024, and the one-day World Cup is next year. Potentially it could be my last 12 months in Test cricket.” said Warner on his test retirement
“T20 cricket, I love the game. I will be looking to get to 2024. For all those people saying I am past it and a lot of those old people are past it, look out. Be careful what you wish for,” the Australian further added speaking to Triple M’s deadset legends
