The Indian team is playing in a newly-launched bright blue jersey in this proceeding series and Karthik has opted to match the color of the jersey with the color of his helmet. The bright blue color makes his helmet more prominent in the eyes of the viewers.

The unconventional helmet is similar to the helmets used in other sports like Baseball and American Football. It weighs lesser than the standard ones which put less pressure on the head, allowing batters to keep their head stable. It also has a couple of holes at the top which provides better ventilation.
