The star-studded Indian team caught the limelight after the win against Australia in the second Test match of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy. India achieved a 6-wicket victory over arch-rivals Australia yesterday (Sunday)in Delhi following a dream all-round performance. It was an impressive win for Rohit Sharma and co. which ultimately helped India take a 2-0 lead in the series, retaining the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Renowned all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was named the player of the match for a contribution of ten wickets across two innings and a 26-run crucial knock with the bat. Axar Patel’s match defining innings worth 76 runs in the 1st innings also turned out to be pretty decisive in the context of the game. On the other hand, it was pretty much a flop show for visitors Australia with Usman Khawaja’s 81-run innings being one of the few positives.
“I think I was enjoying my bowling. These wickets suit me because the odd ball spins and some stay low. I knew they’d play sweeps and reverse sweeps, so my idea was just keeping it simple and straight. I knew they were looking for runs, so the plan was just bowling into the stumps. If they make a mistake, I have a chance.” said Ravindra Jadeja in the post-match presentation
Ravindra Jadeja follows Nathan Lyon on Instagram
Meanwhile, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja shared an interesting story recently stating that he has been following Australia spinner Nathan Lyon for 24 hours. Lyon, during the third day of the Delhi test, requested Jadeja to follow him on Instagram on-field. The episode was caught on stump mic as Lyon was heard saying “Can you follow me on Instagram? you don’t follow anyone else? can you, can you follow me?”. Jadeja who was following no one on Instagram has now followed Lyon.
It has been a dream outing for Ravindra Jadeja in his comeback series. Jadeja missed out on almost six months of Cricket due to his knee surgery but has bounced back pretty strong. The all-rounder was named the player of the match in both the first two tests of the ongoing Australia test series following heavy contributions both with the bat and ball. He is currently the leading wicket-taker in the series, having a notable impact while batting as well.
