BGT 2023: The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team made headlines last week following the achievement of a dominating triumph over Australia in the Test series opener. India defeated Pat Cummins’ Australia by an inning and 132 runs, marking a comprehensive win on Nagpur soil. The big victory further helped the hosts India take a crucial 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series.
Skipper Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja starred for the Indian side in the series opener. Sharma scored a gigantic century in India’s only batting innings, while Jadeja scalped as many as seven wickets, including both innings. On the other hand, it was pretty much an all-round failure for Pat Cummins and co., with Todd Murphy’s seven-wicket haul being the only positive.
‘Pathaan’ favor enters the Indian team!
Meanwhile, a video of Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja performing the hook step of ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ song from Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Pathaan movie is doing rounds on social media. Kohli and Jadeja did the dance step shortly after India’s triumph in the Nagpur Test while standing with teammates in the India huddle.
“Feeling amazing. When you come back after five months and give your 100 per cent, scoring runs and taking wickets.. feels amazing. Was working hard at the NCA. Would like to thank the NCA staff and physios. They have been working hard with me, even on Sundays. Was looking to bowl in good areas. Ball was spinning, going straight, keeping low. Kept telling myself to bowl at the stumps” said Ravindra Jadeja in the post-match presentation
Here’s the video of the incident:

It was a dream outing for Ravindra Jadeja in the series opener at Nagpur. Apart from a five-wicket haul, the all-rounder also contributed with a defining half-century. It was Jadeja’s comeback game following the break of around six months due to a knee injury. He started off the series in a fitting fashion and will certainly be India’s primary asset in the remaining part of the Border Gavaskar trophy 2023.
