AUS vs ENG: The full-strength Australian team started its outing in the ongoing ODI series against England on a fitting note. The Men In Yellow got the better of their arch-rivals England in the opening encounter of the three-match series earlier today (Thursday). It was a clinical show by the hosts at the Adelaide Oval, which ultimately enabled them to register a comprehensive six-wicket triumph.
“Everyone came here fresh. Ashton Agar came in after a few days, nice to see everyone step up. We’ve got plenty of Test cricket coming up, and to see Smith play like this was really pleasing. He’s been putting in a lot of effort in the nets. Pretty pleased with my bowling performance as well.” said newly-appointed Australian captain Pat Cummins
The caravan now moves to Adelaide, where the penultimate encounter of the series will be played. It will be a quick turnaround as the high-voltage match is scheduled after a day’s gap (Saturday). The hosts will look to continue the momentum, while the visitors would be desperate to make a comeback. The contest at Adelaide further might as well decide the winner of the proceeding series, provided Australia wins the match.
The Pat Cummins reign as Australia's ODI skipper is off to a flyer 🥳
