The final test of the ashes is being played on 18 to 22 January 2022 at Perth. Perth was hosting the last test match between Australia and England. Western Australia has strict rules regarding COVID-19 in Perth. So it will be difficult to host the final test of the series in Perth. The date of the fifth test will not change it will remain the same. But the venue has to be shifted because West Australia has some strict Covid quarantine rules in Perth. Hobart and Melbourne are eyeing to host the fifth test but Gaba is also the alternative.

Cricket Australia release the statement regarding the issue, We acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the WA Government, relevant agencies, and Perth Stadium over recent months,” Hockley said.

“We are very disappointed that we are unable to stage the fifth men’s Ashes Test at Perth Stadium. We did everything we could in partnership with the WA Government and WA Cricket to make it work under the current border and health arrangements, but unfortunately, this was not possible.

The further added We are particularly disappointed for Western Australian cricket fans who were so looking forward to seeing the first-ever Ashes Test at the new stadium. They conclude by saying,  We’d love to be able to see more content here at the Gabba,” Hinchcliffe said on Monday. “We’d obviously want to continue talking to Cricket Australia about making sure. We provide the best facilities for the great content.

“Nick Hockley and I speak regularly and it’d be wonderful to play a part in making sure that the Ashes is the best series possible. We’ve got to see what the terms and what the arrangements will be and the circumstances. [We’re] happy to have that conversation.” Management also sees Gabba As the perfect option for the fifth test let’s see what happens next but management will not shift the date of the fifth test it is being confirmed by the management.
