While we all are busy in International matches, an interesting thing happened in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2022. This incident happened in the 2nd game of the league stage between Khulna Tigers and Minister Group Dhaka.Andre Russell got run out dramatically in BPL 2022.
Andre Russell got run out dramatically
On the 6th ball of the 15th over, a strange dismissal took place. The ball was bowled by Thisara Perera, where Andre Russell tapped the ball towards the third man and called for a single.
Mahmudullah, who was at the non-striker end, ran towards the danger end and was successful as he reached before the ball hit the stumps. However, the ball got deflected and went straight to stumps at the non-striker’s end and dislodged the bails which result gave the wicket of Andre Russell, who was out of the crease for his lazy running.

Perera to Russell, out Russell Run Out!! Talk about bonus wickets! Khulna have their second such scalp of the evening! Shahzad earlier and now, the massive one of Russell. This was a slower ball, nudged towards short third man by Dre Russ and he went for the single. Mahmudullah was actually the one running to the danger end and he made it comfortably, even as the throw at the striker’s end missed, only for it to hit the stumps at the other end.
Russell wasn’t expecting this to happen and was ambling across lazily. Caught way short. It might well have been a fluke event but no excuses for Russell to do that kind of running. He wasn’t even going jogging. Caught well short and Khulna knew it straightaway. A wicket that will easily make 20 runs to the final score.
Khulna Tigers beat Minister Group Dhaka by 5 wickets
Khulna Tigers won the toss and elected to field first. Minister Group Dhaka had a great start with the openers. Tamim Iqbal was the top scorer by scoring 50 runs in 42 balls. Quickfire runs from Mahmudullah down the order helped Minister Group Dhaka post 183 runs in 20 overs. But 183 runs were not enough as Khulna Tigers chased the target of 184 runs in 19 overs with 5 wickets in hand. Andre Fletcher and Rony Talukdar added 72 runs in 40 balls. And Thisara Perera finished the game with a strike rate of 200.
