ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021’s second round has begun where we watched four teams battle out on day one of the super 12. In a recent match between WI and England, the only positive for WI is Akeal Hosein.
Both the games of day one were not even-steven, the first match between Australia and South Africa was low scoring where South Africa was just able to score 118 in runs in the 20 overs and Australia chased down the target with two balls to spare and with 5 wickets in hand.
Small Summary of West Indies vs England
The second match of the day was between the defending champions West Indies and the runners-up England. England captain Morgan won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first. After that, it was one-way traffic for England as their bowlers ran away through the West Indies batting order.

West Indies had an unbelievable batting collapse as they were all out for just 55 runs. Not even a single West Indies batter tried to build the innings on the wicket. Adil Rashid shined with the ball as he took a 4 wicket haul and gave just two runs in his spell. The only positive outcome for West Indies could be Akeal Hosein’s bowling and the spectacular catch.
Akeal Hosein – the positive for West Indies from this game
Akeal Hosein came as a replacement in the squad for Fabian Allen. He played the first match and bowled beautifully in his four-overs spell. He gave just 24 runs and took two big wickets of Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone.
About the ball(6.1) and the catch which Akeal caught
He took Liam Livingstone’s wicket in the seventh over of the innings where he caught a one-handed stunner in his own follow-through.
He bowled a bit full onto the pads which drifted a bit, Liam Livingstone was early into the flick shot and the ball caught the leading edge and the bowler took the catch to his left with a full-length dive and took an unbelievable single hand catch.
West Indians definitely lost the match but Akeal Hosein really gave them a hard time in between. England won this match comprehensively by 11 overs to spare and with 6 wickets in hand.
