Abhishek Sharma, 21 years young all-rounder from Punjab named his choice of the greatest captain of all time in a recent interview with Crictracker.
Abhishek has been a rising star since his early days. He is a multidimensional player who can bat at the top, can be a finisher, can also bowl left-arm orthodox, and can also add contribution through fielding.
His all-rounder’s contribution to the Youth Asia Cup championship in December 2016 played a crucial. As he was the second-highest wicket-taker in the competition which helped India U19 win.
Also, he was a key player when India U19, which was led by Prithvi Shaw won the 2018 ICC U19 World Cup in New Zealand in the summer of 2018.
His brilliant performance at such a young age earned him an IPL contract in 2018 where he was purchased by Delhi Daredevils (now the Delhi Capitals) for INR 55 lacs. And in the first game itself, he announced himself in the big pressure league by scoring a 46-run innings off only 19 balls, against Virat led Royal Challengers Bangalore. Later he was traded to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
For his domestic team Punjab as well, he had performed really well. In the absence of Mandeep Singh, we have seen Abhishek Sharma taking the charge of Punjab and performing under responsibilities.
In the interview, the question asked him was about his choice of the greatest captain of all time.
In reply, Abhishek said that Kane Williamson is the greatest captain of all time.
Abhishek has played last two seasons for Sunrisers Hyderabad under the captaincy of Kane Williamson.
Although he didn’t get a complete run throughout the tournament.
