Abhimanyu Mithun says goodbye to cricket, Retires from all formats

It’s been shocking that a 31-year-old career ended in such a way. Today’s IPL fan doesn’t know his presence as much. But true cricket fans surely notices him in the domestic circle. Right arm fast bowler is member of RCB squad in 2009 IPL and it was the year when RCB headed towards the final for the first time.

That time RCB coach Ray Jennings describes Mithun as an express Bowler. In 2015 IPL represents Mumbai Indians and then Sunrisers Hyderabad which is his last IPL franchise. IPL is a format that is supposed to run on the base principle which is talent meets opportunity. From 2010 to 2011 he represents India and everyone is talking about his future operations with the team. But after few times he got dropped from the international side.

This doesn’t mean his performance dipped he is a consistent fast bowler. There is a time when franchises run after him but the money league fades our talented boy. He is permanent water for Karnataka cricket. In the 2009-10 Ranji trophy he took 47 wickets and emerges as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament. This performance gives him a ticket to play for India. But many factors decline this boy’s career.

Which resulted that him took retirement at such young age. Abhimanyu Mithun says goodbye to cricket and decided to retire from all formats of the game. His wife is the daughter of a famous South Indian actress and Mithun is blessed with a boy and a girl.

He is so special talent and he is the only bowler who took a hat trick in all 3 formats of domestic cricket. He is a little bit emotional about his retirement and said ”I have represented my country at the highest level and will always be my highest achievement,” he said in a statement. “The joy and the pride from it is something I’ll cherish throughout my career. “Cricket is a universal game and I believe in finishing at the highest level. So I had to take this decision and seek better opportunities for myself and my family around the world. I am also clear that Karnataka has abundant fast bowling of talent and they would miss out opportunities at the right time if I prolong my career.”

Abhimanyu Mithun is an impressive fast-time bowler and nicknamed an express bowler from former RCB coach Ray Jennings. He’s having an impressive first-class career but lacks an international one. Besides being dropped from the international side he goes on showing his consistent bowling performance. If he got more chances he will emerge as one of the most dominant bowlers on the Indian side.

He played international matches which includes four test matches. 12 wickets in his overall international career. He has 211 wickets in a first-class career which shows that he is enriched with capacity and ability to perform. He also has a 97 LIST A career, which marks his dominance in the domestic circuit.
